It started with one scruffy terrier
Milo & Friends is a small, all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. Here is how we got here, what we believe, and the people behind the wagging tails.
The original Milo
One spare bedroom, hundreds of happy endings
In 2017, our founder took in a scruffy little terrier named Milo who needed a place to land. One foster turned into two, then a few friends offered their spare rooms too, and Milo & Friends was born.
We chose to stay foster-based on purpose. Pets do better on a couch than in a cage, and living in real homes helps us learn what makes each one tick, so we can match them with the right family.
We are a registered nonprofit run entirely by volunteers, and we are just getting started.

The heart behind the rescue
Every pet matters
Big or small, young or grey around the muzzle, each animal that comes to us gets patience, care, and a real shot at a home.
Fosters first
A home beats a kennel every time. Living in foster care means our pets are happier, healthier, and easier to match.
Honest matches
We would rather find the right home than a fast one. We are upfront about each pet so families adopt with open eyes.
Powered by neighbors
We are all volunteers. Every adoption, ride, and dollar comes from people in this community who simply love animals.
The volunteers behind it all
A small crew of animal lovers who somehow find the hours. Say hi at any event.
