A Shop Built on Doing It Right
Cardinal Electric has wired homes across Millbrook Crossing since 2009. We are master-electrician owned, permit everything that needs it, and treat a clean, labeled panel as part of the job, not an extra.
Owned and Run by a Master Electrician
Ray Okafor spent years on commercial crews before starting Cardinal Electric in 2009. He had seen enough shortcut work, unpermitted panels, and mystery wiring to know exactly what he wanted his own shop to be: precise, permitted, and honest about what a job actually needs.
17 years later, that is still the whole idea. A tight crew of about six electricians, residential first with some light commercial, and a standard that does not bend: work to code, pull the permit, label the panel, and tell the customer the truth even when it costs us the bigger sale.
A master electrician license is not a quick credential. It takes years of hours, an apprenticeship, and hard exams. Ray holds ours, and every job carries that accountability.
Credentials
Careful Beats Fast
Electrical work does not forgive shortcuts. A loose connection you cannot see can smolder for months. So our crew works the boring way on purpose: torque the connections to spec, verify the circuit is dead before touching it, and never bury a splice where no one can reach it. Careful is not slow, it is the job.
Who Shows Up
About six electricians, most with us for years. The same faces you get to know, not a rotating cast of subs.
Ray Okafor
Owner / Master Electrician
Holds the NC unlimited electrical license the company is built on. Came up through commercial work, then went out on his own in 2009 to do residential the right way.
Trevor Lang
Lead Electrician
Ten years on the tools and our go-to for panel and service work. The one who insists every circuit gets labeled before he closes the cover.
Marisol Reyes
Electrician
Sharp on troubleshooting and EV installs. If your problem is intermittent and maddening, she is the one who finds it.
Dana Whitfield
Office / Scheduling
Answers the phone, books the work, and keeps the same-week schedule honest. She will tell you a real window, not a fake one.
The Rules That Do Not Bend
Permitted, every time
If the job needs a permit, we pull it and schedule the inspection. No shortcuts that come back on you at resale or with your insurance.
Labeled panels
Every circuit we touch gets labeled. A panel should be readable by the next person, in daylight or by flashlight in an outage.
Diagnosed, not guessed
We find the real cause before we quote or replace. That is slower than swapping parts, and it is the difference between a fix and a callback.
No fear selling
We will tell you when something is urgent and when it can wait. Safety talk should inform you, not scare you into an upsell.
Put a Careful Electrician on It.
Whether it is a flickering light or a full service upgrade, you get the same crew, the same permits, and the same labeled-panel standard every time.
