Pinewood is a locally rooted, independent insurance agency. We are not a carrier and not a call center. We are licensed agents who compare options across many companies and help our neighbors make sense of Medicare, life insurance, and health coverage.
I started Pinewood to be the agent I could not find
When my own family was navigating coverage, I kept running into two kinds of people: salespeople with one product to push, and call centers that treated us like a number. I knew there was a better way to do this, so in 2011 I opened Pinewood as an independent agency.
Fifteen years later, the idea has not changed. Get contracted with many good carriers, learn each client's situation, explain the options honestly, and let people decide for themselves. No pressure, no jargon, no disappearing after the paperwork is signed.
That is the whole company. A licensed agent who picks up the phone and treats you like a neighbor, because you are one.
The difference is who we answer to
A captive agent works for one company and can only offer that company's products. We are independent, contracted with many carriers, so we compare across them and recommend the fit for you.
