Ordinary neighbors, an extraordinary habit
Brightpath Neighbors is a local nonprofit built on a simple belief: the people who can help your town best are the ones who already live in it.
The early days
From one casserole to a whole network
In 2014, a few families in Millbrook Crossing, NC started delivering dinners to a neighbor recovering from surgery. Others asked how they could pitch in. Within a year, that handful of helpers had become a rhythm the neighborhood counted on.
We formalized as Brightpath Neighbors so we could do more, better. Today we run meal delivery, home repair days, and youth mentoring, all staffed by volunteers who live within a few miles of the people they serve.
The work has grown. The heart of it has not.

Four values behind every shift
Neighbors first
We start with the person in front of us, not a program metric. Real needs, real relationships.
Show up consistently
Anyone can help once. We build trust by coming back week after week.
Everyone has something to give
Time, skills, a truck, a warm meal. There is a role here for every kind of helper.
Local and transparent
Money raised here stays here, and we keep our books and our impact easy to see.

Volunteers who guide the mission and keep us accountable to the neighbors we serve.

Where your support goes
Brightpath Neighbors is a registered nonprofit run by a volunteer board. We keep our overhead low so the bulk of every dollar goes straight into programs: meals, repair materials, and mentoring in Millbrook Crossing, NC.
Each year we publish a plain-language summary of what we raised and how it was used, and we are always happy to walk a supporter through the details. Just reach out.
Every neighbor helped starts with one person saying yes.
Give an hour, give a hand, or give a gift. However you show up, you make our town a little warmer for someone who needs it.
