Getting started is gentler than you think
The first step is the hardest, so we make it small. There is no long intake, no pressure, and no commitment to begin. Here is exactly what happens, from the first call to settling into a rhythm.
A phone call, whenever you are ready
You call, or we call you. You tell us what is going on in your own words. We listen more than we talk, ask a few gentle questions, and help you understand whether care would even help yet. There is no cost and no obligation, and it is completely okay if you are just gathering information.
A free in-home assessment
If it feels right, we come to the home at a time that works. We meet your parent, see the space, and understand the day: the routines that still work, the spots that have gotten harder, the things that matter to them. We are guests, and we treat it that way.
A care plan in plain language
From the visit, we write a simple care plan: what help is needed, when, and by whom. No jargon. You will see exactly what care looks like and what it costs before anything begins, and you are free to say not yet.
Meeting your caregiver
We match a caregiver to your family and introduce you before care starts, so the first day is a familiar face and not a stranger. If the fit is not right, we say so and swap. Getting this part right is worth the effort.
Adjusting as needs change
Needs change, sometimes slowly, sometimes overnight. A few hours becomes a few days, or the reverse. We stay in touch, check in, and adjust the care plan as life shifts. You are never locked into last month's plan.
You do not need to have it all figured out
You do not need a diagnosis, a list, or the right words. Most people who call us start with some version of “I am not sure where to begin.” That is a perfect place to begin. A real person answers, and we take it from there, at your pace.
Ready to take the small first step, or still have questions? Either way, call us and just talk it through.
