Not at all. R-410A systems can still be legally serviced and repaired. New installs since January 2026 use A2L refrigerants like R-454B, and R-410A supply is tightening, so refrigerant-related repairs are getting pricier. On a system past 12 to 15 years, that is worth factoring into a repair-versus-replace decision.
